Bertrand Lassallette-Desnault

Owner / Producer

Bertrand Lassallette-Desnault is the co-owner and works as a Producer here at Supernova Productions.

After studying Film and Television Production in Paris, Bert then worked in France in many areas of production from cameraman, editor, researcher, production assistant and finally as a producer for many broadcasters in France such as France Television, Canal Plus, Point du Jour to name a few.

In 1999, Bert followed his heart to Belfast where he continued to work in the creative production arena. Firstly as freelance for various independent production companies where he gained experience in ‘how we do things around here’ and found his feet within the industry. Quickly Bert realised that it was time he brought all his creative flare and experience together with a creative, technical talent to be reckoned with and that is where the story of Supernova Productions starts- when Berty met Jonny….

Jonathan Burnside

Owner / Director of Photography

Jonathan Burnside is the co-owner and Director of Photography at Supernova Productions.

Jonathan having had a creative bent since he was a child, moved on to study Media (Moving Image) at the Belfast Metropolitan College. After graduating, Jonny cut his teeth in the fast moving world of freelance camerawork and editing, here in Northern Ireland. This enabled Jonny to quickly learn on the hard edge about the full range of technical and creative challenges that can face a cameraman.

Jonny worked for a number of years in this freelance capacity enabling him to experience a diverse range of clients, including the Belfast Giants and Century TV. This came to a pinnacle when he spent a season in the camera department of HBOs critically acclaimed “Game of Thrones”. After this, like Bert, Jonny made the decision to transition all of these skills into the next phase of his own personal journey, Supernova Productions.

Solene Guichard

Creative Executive

Solene has also joined Supernova from far afield, having moved here from France to complete her studies a few years ago.

Solene lives and breathes creativity, having studied hard to achieve her Masters at QUB last year. We were delighted when Solene joined us during her Masters for ‘real world’ experience and even more happy now that she has stayed on with us.

Majoring on developing concepts into Short Films is a key area of activity for Solene here at Supernova, as well as being an accomplished Editor. Just recently she has completed a short film called ‘Surealistic self’ for the BBC Two Minute Masterpiece series in which she worked alongside Bert as Producer. She has also directed a short film called ‘How do I know’ alongside Bert and Jonny which won the “Twisted Dark Short Film Competition” Award in the USA.

Solene is really excited to hear your short film ideas, so don’t hold back!
